Sureserve’s Annual Apprentice Academy Day at Silverstone

Celebrating future talent

At Sureserve, we believe in investing in the future and that means investing in people. On Monday 16th June, we proudly hosted our Annual Apprentice Day at the outstanding Silverstone Circuit, bringing together apprentices from across the Group for a day of celebration, inspiration, and connection.

A year of growth

Over the past 12 months, our apprentice community has grown from 140 to 180, a testament to our ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent. This growth reflects not only our strategic investment in skills development but also the enthusiasm and dedication of our apprentices, who continue to bring fresh perspectives and energy to everything we do.

A day to remember

Set against the thrilling backdrop of Silverstone, the day was packed with engaging activities designed to challenge, inspire, and entertain. Highlights included:

  • A challenge, where teams collaborated to market a new product. Testing their creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Scalextric racing, an F1 simulator, and the Batak wall, adding a competitive edge and a lot of fun to the day.
  • A maths challenge to keep everyone on their toes.
  • The ultimate pit stop challenge. Working together to change a tyre on an F1 car.
  • Awards ceremony, celebrating the of achievements of our apprentices.

Learning from the best

We were honoured to welcome two incredible guest speakers:

  • Nathan John, who delivered a powerful talk on turning confidence into competence and planning for long-term success.
  • A surprise appearance from Perry McCarthy (The Original Stig) who shared insights on resilience and staying focused under pressure, lessons that resonate far beyond the racetrack.

Building connections

Beyond the activities and talks, the day was a fantastic opportunity for apprentices to network, share their journeys, and celebrate their achievements. Events like this are vital in building a strong, supportive community where everyone feels empowered to grow and succeed.

Looking ahead

As we continue to expand our apprenticeship programme, we remain committed to creating opportunities that inspire, challenge, and support our future leaders. The energy and enthusiasm at Silverstone were a clear reminder of the incredible potential within our apprentice community.
