Case study
When Hyde and Sureserve began working together in April 2014, the shared ambition was clear: deliver consistently reliable electrical safety across a diverse and complex housing portfolio. Yet Sureserve went above and beyond, with a commitment to make the experience as simple and safe as possible while keeping residents abreast of the many works in progress.
Twelve years on, the partnership has become one of Sureserve’s most established and valued long-term programmes. It now runs through to February 2028, with an option for a three-year extension. Over that time, the works delivered for Hyde have grown into one of the largest electrical compliance programmes Sureserve has ever undertaken, covering thousands of homes, communal areas and critical safety systems.
The result is a partnership built on trust, communication and a joint commitment to keeping every Hyde resident safe in their home. It is a partnership supported by smart delivery models, strong resident engagement and the kind of everyday reliability that allows landlords to plan with confidence.
Hyde’s needs are wide-ranging, from everyday domestic electrical checks to technically demanding safety systems.
Sureserve meets these needs through a unified programme that brings together: Domestic & communal EICRs
This joined-up model reduces fragmentation, builds consistency and ensures Hyde receives a single, accountable partner for all key electrical safety obligations.

This is not a typical compliance workload. It is one of the most ambitious electrical safety programmes currently running in UK social housing.
As of March 2026, Sureserve has delivered:
Each visit is logged, planned and quality-checked through Sureserve's established operational systems, giving Hyde complete visibility and reliable evidence trails for every property.
What sets this contract apart is not only the volume, but the way the work is carried out.
Customer Liaison Officer Charelle plays a central role in maintaining resident trust. Her site visits, door-knocking sessions and joint resident engagement days with Hyde help demystify electrical safety, explain what an EICR involves and build comfort with upcoming visits.
These engagement days are more than a courtesy. They reduce no-access rates, ease resident anxiety and create stronger relationships between Hyde and the communities they serve.
For residents, that means:
Because Sureserve handles the full lifecycle of electrical safety — from inspection to remedial works to major upgrades — Hyde benefits from:
This continuity is particularly important for communal systems such as lightning protection, lateral mains and switch gear; critical assets where oversight and rapid response matter.

For more than a decade, Sureserve and Hyde have built a relationship grounded in transparency, courtesy and aligned values, particularly around resident experience and safety.
Regular operational reviews, open communication channels and a proactive stance on potential issues have shaped a programme that remains stable even under heavy demand.
While the Hyde programme is not defined by a single breakthrough moment, it stands as a model of what longstanding, steady, high-quality compliance delivery looks like in practice.
It shows how much can be achieved when:
In many ways, it is the kind of stable operational backbone that supports big decarbonisation ambitions and future electrical upgrades while keeping the organisation agile enough to adapt to any new regulations.
For Hyde and Sureserve, the work goes on. With such a strong foundation, thriving partnership and aligned commitment to putting safe, compliant homes at the heart of every decision they make, the team is more than ready to tackle whatever comes next.
